Responsibilities:

  1. Project Planning and Execution: Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of civil engineering projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to project scope, budget, and timeline objectives.
  2. Team Leadership and Management: Provide effective leadership and direction to project teams, including engineers, architects, contractors, and subcontractors. Foster a collaborative and high-performing work environment conducive to innovation and excellence.
  3. Client Relationship Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities throughout the project lifecycle. Establish and maintain strong relationships, addressing concerns and ensuring client satisfaction.
  4. Budget and Cost Management: Develop project budgets, forecasts, and financial plans in collaboration with the finance department. Monitor project expenses, resource allocation, and procurement activities to optimize cost-efficiency and profitability.
  5. Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Identify potential risks and challenges associated with project delivery, conducting thorough risk assessments and implementing proactive mitigation strategies. Anticipate and address issues promptly to minimize disruptions and delays.
  6. Quality Assurance and Compliance: Implement quality assurance processes and procedures to uphold industry standards and regulatory requirements. Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and safety protocols.
  7. Progress Reporting and Documentation: Generate regular progress reports, status updates, and milestone evaluations for internal and external stakeholders. Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including contracts, permits, and technical specifications.
  8. Change Management: Manage changes to project scope, schedule, and budget effectively, assessing the impact on project objectives and stakeholders. Negotiate and resolve contract variations and claims in a fair and equitable manner.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. Master's degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in civil engineering and construction project management, with a proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale projects.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is highly desirable.
  • In-depth knowledge of civil engineering principles, construction methodologies, and project management best practices.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate multidisciplinary teams.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and strategic thinking skills, with a focus on delivering innovative solutions and overcoming challenges.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools, such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or equivalent.
  • Experience working with diverse stakeholders, including clients, contractors, regulatory agencies, and community representatives.
