Responsibilities:
- Project Planning and Execution: Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of civil engineering projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to project scope, budget, and timeline objectives.
- Team Leadership and Management: Provide effective leadership and direction to project teams, including engineers, architects, contractors, and subcontractors. Foster a collaborative and high-performing work environment conducive to innovation and excellence.
- Client Relationship Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities throughout the project lifecycle. Establish and maintain strong relationships, addressing concerns and ensuring client satisfaction.
- Budget and Cost Management: Develop project budgets, forecasts, and financial plans in collaboration with the finance department. Monitor project expenses, resource allocation, and procurement activities to optimize cost-efficiency and profitability.
- Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Identify potential risks and challenges associated with project delivery, conducting thorough risk assessments and implementing proactive mitigation strategies. Anticipate and address issues promptly to minimize disruptions and delays.
- Quality Assurance and Compliance: Implement quality assurance processes and procedures to uphold industry standards and regulatory requirements. Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and safety protocols.
- Progress Reporting and Documentation: Generate regular progress reports, status updates, and milestone evaluations for internal and external stakeholders. Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including contracts, permits, and technical specifications.
- Change Management: Manage changes to project scope, schedule, and budget effectively, assessing the impact on project objectives and stakeholders. Negotiate and resolve contract variations and claims in a fair and equitable manner.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. Master's degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in civil engineering and construction project management, with a proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale projects.
- Professional Engineer (PE) or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is highly desirable.
- In-depth knowledge of civil engineering principles, construction methodologies, and project management best practices.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate multidisciplinary teams.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities and strategic thinking skills, with a focus on delivering innovative solutions and overcoming challenges.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools, such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or equivalent.
- Experience working with diverse stakeholders, including clients, contractors, regulatory agencies, and community representatives.
