Position Overview
The Intern - Computer Generated Artist will have the opportunity to learn from experienced professionals and contribute to real-world projects while developing skills in CGI asset creation, rendering, animation, and visual effects. This internship offers a unique opportunity for individuals passionate about digital art and computer graphics to gain practical experience, build a portfolio, and jumpstart their career in the creative industry.
Key Responsibilities
1. CGI Asset Creation
- Assist in the creation of 3D models, textures, and materials for use in CGI projects, under the guidance of senior artists.
- Learn and apply industry-standard techniques for modeling, texturing, and sculpting using software such as Autodesk Maya, Blender, or Cinema 4D.
- Participate in the refinement and optimization of CGI assets to meet project requirements and quality standards.
2. Rendering and Lighting
- Gain hands-on experience in setting up lighting rendering parameters to achieve desired visual effects and aesthetic goals.
- Learn techniques for rendering CGI scenes and sequences using rendering software such as Arnold, V-Ray, or Redshift.
- Assist in troubleshooting rendering issues and optimizing render settings under the supervision of senior artists.
3. Animation and Effects
- Learn the basics of animation principles and techniques, including character animation, particle effects, dynamics simulations, and compositing.
- Gain exposure to the process of integrating CGI elements into live-action footage or background plates.
- Collaborate with senior artists to refine animation timing, motion dynamics, and overall visual impact.
4. Project Support and Collaboration
- Support project teams in various aspects of CGI project execution, including asset preparation, scene setup, and rendering.
- Collaborate with artists, designers, and other team members to brainstorm ideas, solve creative challenges, and contribute to project development.
- Assist in maintaining organized project files, documentation, and asset libraries to support project workflow and version control.
Qualifications
- Pursuing a degree or diploma in Computer Graphics, Animation, Visual Effects, or related field.
- Basic knowledge of 3D modeling, texturing, and rendering concepts is preferred but not required.
- Proficiency in software such as Autodesk Maya, Blender, Cinema 4D, or similar is a plus.
- Strong interest and passion for digital art, computer graphics, and visual storytelling.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Eagerness to learn, adapt, and take on new challenges in a fast-paced creative environment.
